Today was day one at my new sales outlet/gallery in Byron Bay. I unpacked some artworks, paintings and prints with a selection of mini books and cards. Met some of the other tenants and started to clean up where the bricklayer and plasterer had been working. I was cleaning the windows when a lady approached me asking if I was a new artist. Lucky for me I just made contact with the publisher of the Arts Estate Guide that was being printed later in the week. I designed an ad to go in the listing and was feeling very satisfied that I had fulfilled today's task without going anywhere, ie to get some advertising happening. At that moment a voice come through the front door "anybody there?" It was Helen who introduced herself and made enquiries about 2 of the paintings I had hung temporarily. Helen ended up buying the larger work which was Horizon VI from the Shades of Hue series. It was a great feeling to sell a painting on day 1, a great start.
